📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java/Spring Boot • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews • Design relational database schemas, write queries, and troubleshoot data issues • Deploy and support AWS services following existing infrastructure patterns • Debug and resolve production issues, escalating and collaborating with the team lead as needed • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate ramp-up and delivery • Collaborate with the engineering lead and cross-functional partners in product and QA to scope and ship features • Learn the codebase, engineering practices, and domain while progressing toward independent ownership

🎯 Requirements

• 1-3 years of professional experience as a backend or full-stack developer, in any language • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, debugging, and problem-solving • Demonstrated ability to learn new languages/frameworks quickly • Experience building and consuming REST APIs • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while communicating proactively • A growth mindset — comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and building toward greater ownership • Working knowledge of Java and Spring / Spring Boot (nice to have) • Some exposure to AWS or another major cloud provider (nice to have) • Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (nice to have) • Exposure to microservices architecture (nice to have) • Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects (nice to have) • Remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in or near the US Eastern time zone • Full-time
