📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain complex software systems • Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with good test coverage • Review and translate product requirements into robust designs • Design modular, configurable, reusable, fast, effective, user-friendly, secure, compliant, scalable, and maintainable distributed applications • Lead design and code reviews across multiple applications • Lead the sprint team to deliver new or improved features • Address impediments to delivering high-quality solutions in the sprint backlog • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of intended functionality • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers • Foster innovation and excellence within Mercury engineering • Lead agile teams or projects and ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related fields OR equivalent combination of education and experience • 5+ years software programming experience • 2+ years experience in technologies used at Mercury • More than 1 year experience leading and mentoring engineering teams • Proficiency in one or more industry-standard programming languages, such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript • Experience with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns • Experience with relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions • Experience with REST and gRPC APIs • Proficiency in message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks • Knowledge of microservices architecture • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes • Proficiency in DevSecOps • Experience designing and implementing distributed application systems • Strong problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities • Demonstrated leadership through mentoring and technical guidance • Experience driving technical strategy and vision for a team • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science • Preferred: 6 or more years of experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter configurations and integrations • Preferred: 4 or more years of experience with Java/J2EE • Preferred: 2 or more years of experience with Kafka, AWS, S3, Drools, Blaze, or similar technologies • Preferred: 2 or more years of experience with Personal Lines products • Preferred: 1 or more years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GUnit • Preferred: Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
